Inspiring Primary School Workshops by Teach Rex

At Teach Rex, we create engaging and interactive learning experiences for primary schools designed to spark curiosity and complement your curriculum. Each workshop includes cross-curricular resources through our free Curriculum Ideas Pack, developed with teaching practitioners to provide writing frames, lesson ideas, and other resources that link to the workshops.

Dinosaur Workshops

Before we arrive, your school will receive dinosaur eggs to spark curiosity and engage students.

Workshop 1

Students meet ‘Jam’, our 4-metre dinosaur, and explore the evolution of science. They learn key vocabulary and understand the importance of asking “why.”

Workshop 2

Using green screen technology, students expand their vocabulary and create imaginative scenes. This activity is linked to writing, drama, and ICT and is differentiated for EYFS to Year 6.

Workshop 3

Students work in small groups to create green screen videos using iPads, applying vocabulary and skills learned in previous workshops.

Dragon Workshop

Before our visit, your school will receive a mysterious ancient book with blank pages, encouraging students to predict what it means. This creates curiosity leading into the workshop.

Workshop 1

Students are introduced to a mythical story brought to life in front of them. They become part of the story while using their imaginations to inspire creative writing.

Workshop 2

Using green screen technology, students expand their vocabulary and create scenes, learning storytelling techniques linked to writing, drama, and ICT.

Workshop 3

Students work in small groups to create green screen movies using iPads, applying the skills and vocabulary learned in previous sessions.

Animals Workshop

Before our visit, your school will receive a poster featuring Thomas the Gorilla or Fito the Orangutan, highlighting the environmental challenges they face. This visual hook gets children thinking about sustainability.

Workshop 1

Students meet Thomas the Gorilla or Fito the Orangutan and follow their story, learning about the effects of human behaviour on the environment. This session explores sustainability and scientific thinking, using differentiated vocabulary for all ages.

Workshop 2

Children become rainforest explorers using green screen technology to create imaginative scenes. This workshop enhances writing, drama, and ICT skills with differentiated content for EYFS to Year 6.

Workshop 3

Students work in small groups to create green screen videos using iPads, applying the vocabulary and skills learned in earlier sessions. Younger students practice sentences, while older students create more detailed content.
