Win: Free Teach Rex Community Research Grant

Help Shape the Future of Learning

We’re excited to launch the Teach Rex Community Research Grant — a unique opportunity for primary schools across the UK to receive a completely free in-school visit while helping us explore how immersive, experience-led learning impacts memory, writing, and engagement.

Backed by years of teaching experience and over 1,000 school visits worldwide, Teach Rex is the UK’s highest-reviewed educational workshop provider. Our mission is simple: to create unforgettable learning experiences that leave a lasting mark. This new initiative allows us to gather valuable research on long-term memory and writing outcomes, while providing selected schools with access to our full workshop experience at no cost.

PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR GRANT APPLICATION BEFORE FRIDAY 11TH JULY 2025

We are expecting a large number of applicants, and not all schools are guaranteed a place. Submitting an application does not guarantee a research placement. Schools will be chosen at random, and different regions across the country will be included.

What Is the Teach Rex Research Visit?

The Teach Rex Research Visit provides schools with the opportunity to participate in a hands-on learning experience that also supports a national research initiative focused on memory, vocabulary, and writing outcomes.

By taking part, your school contributes to a meaningful research project that could help reshape how we think about engagement and outcomes in the classroom.

What You’ll Receive

Successful applicants will enjoy a completely free Teach Rex experience, which includes:

  • A full themed workshop day with a dinosaur, dragon, or animal focus
  • A high-energy assembly to introduce the story
  • Vocabulary-rich activities
  • Green screen filming and iPad-led creativity
  • Interactive storytelling linked to PSHE
  • Opportunities to support writing before and after the visit

Why Experiences Work: The Research Behind the Visit

Studies show that learning experiences boost outcomes when they are:

Emotionally powerful – Surprise, awe, and joy activate memory

Multi-sensory – Involving movement, visuals, sound, and storytelling

Socially interactive – Encouraging discussion, recall, and collaboration

Personally relevant – Connecting learning to pupils’ interests

Reinforced through follow-up – Helping knowledge stick long-term

Teach Rex workshops are built around these principles, and we’ve already seen thousands of children write more, recall more, and engage more after our visits.
